THE BEGINNING.
Sam Sass was born and raised in New York City from the 90s to the 2000s. Growing up he was immersed in New York skate graffiti hip-hop culture. He began writing lyrics at the age of six and at 13 started a punk band called False Arrest of which he was the lead singer. By the time he was 15, the band had dissolved and after entering high school, he started hopping in cyphers and writing raps. Sass released a handful of singles on SoundCloud between 2010 and 2013. While attending CalArts, Sass discovered electronic music and circus arts after beginning to attend underground festivals in Southern California. It wasn’t till 2019 that he decided to once again pick up his pen and start writing again.
Guru Doug, originally from Atlanta, moved around a lot as a child and moved to Southern California as an early teen. He toured for few years as the vocalist for (insert band name), before settling down in Burbank to focus on his career as a producer. Guru has worked with other notable underground hip hop artists in addition to releasing his own solo projects.
